José Moisés Molín began studying singing in Bologna (Italy) under the renowned vocal coach Paride Venturi and in Saint Petersburg (Russia) with Elena Rubin; since 2011, he has continued his vocal refinement under the guidance of tenor Salvatore Fisichella. In Madrid, he earned a degree in acting at the “Juan Carlos Corazza International Acting Studio” (2000-2004) and specialized in opera, obtaining the Superior Title of Music in the specialty of Singing (2005-2009).
A dramatic tenor in constant progression, he has perfected his skills in masterclasses with great opera artists. He has successfully performed the roles of ALFREDO, ISMAELE, CASSIO, CANIO, CAVARADOSSI, TURIDDU, FLORESTAN, PINKERTON, CALAF, RICCARDO, and DON JOSÉ.
During these years of debuts, José Moisés Molín has established himself in his most suited repertoire, performing in over a thousand concerts and approximately 300 opera and zarzuela performances across nearly all Spanish regions and in various foreign countries (France, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Greece, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Malta, Russia, Israel, Serbia, Romania, and Japan).
In 2015, José Moisés Molín won the first prize at The Zamboki International Competition of Vocal Arts in Jerusalem (Israel). In 2017, he performed in Malta for the first time as part of Valletta European Capital of Culture, and in Belgrade (Serbia), he sang in a concert at the Kolarac Concert Hall. In the upcoming months, he will return as Cavaradossi in Tosca in Belgrade, and in Valletta (Malta) for a new project within The Strada Stretta Concept, and he will perform La Traviata as well as around forty opera and zarzuela concerts in various Spanish cities.
Over the past two years, he has performed as Cavaradossi (Tosca) in Jerusalem, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), and Don José (semi-staged version of Carmen) in Madrid. He has also performed in La Traviata and Quadri d’Opera in Milazzo, as well as opera concerts in Taormina, Jerusalem, and Madrid.
He started 2014 with great public and critical success in his German debut as Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca (Teo Otto Theater in Remscheid and Kulturgemeinde Weinheim). He played Ismaele in Nabucco in a new production in Mannheim, Rosengarten Congress Centrum, and further performances of Verdi’s third opera in various cities in Germany and Romania (Buchholz, Ottobrunn, Amberg, and Oradea).
During the 2013/2014 season, he debuted as Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Teatrul Regina Maria Oradea (Romania). Notably, in Spain that season, he also debuted as RICCARDO in Un Ballo in Maschera, Calaf in Turandot, and Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana.
In 2013, he performed the zarzuela La del Manojo de Rosas in Navarra for AGAO at the Teatro Gaztambide in Tudela and the Auditorio Baluarte in Pamplona, followed by performances at Teatro Principal in Alicante and Teatro Circo in Albacete. Since June 2012, he has participated in the show Los Divinos alongside violinist Ara Malikian. As a solo tenor, he performed in the Antología de la Zarzuela, a grand show inspired by José Tamayo, at major theaters in Alicante, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Logroño, and Murcia.
In 2011, he debuted as Ismaele (Nabucco) at the Wiener Stadthalle (Austria), Don José (Carmen) at Stadttheater Amberg (Germany), and Florestan (Fidelio) in Madrid. That same year, he starred in the main roles of two productions of La Traviata and Madame Butterfly at the Teatro de Madrid, achieving great public success and returning for five consecutive years for revivals of these productions in various theaters in the Spanish capital. He reprised his role in Madame Butterfly for the opening of the ADDA Auditorium in Alicante.
Among his most important concerts, those at the prestigious Laeiszhalle-Musikhalle in Hamburg in 2008, 2009, and 2010 stand out. In 2010, he performed Nabucco again in Munich. In November of the same year, he debuted as Canio (I Pagliacci) in Madrid. Since 2010, José Moisés Molín has regularly appeared in various open-air productions of Nabucco in Germany and Austria, including performances at the Munich Residenz (2010 and 2011), Burghausen Fortress, the Donau Arena in Ingolstadt, and at the Kremsmünster and Seitenstetten Abbeys (Austria).
In 2009, in Japan, he sang the roles of Cassio in Otello and Alfredo in La Traviata at Salamanca Hall in Gifu. That same year, he made his Italian debut in the same role at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina (Sicily) for an educational performance of La Traviata for schools.
In 2008, he debuted as Ismaele in Nabucco at the Royal Palace of Munich. He subsequently performed the same role in Landshut and Regensburg, as well as at the Dreiländerhalle in Passau and the Festspielhaus in Füssen. His early roles also include Don Ottavio, the Duke of Mantua, Rodolfo, Paco in Falla’s La Vida Breve, King Kasper in Menotti’s Amahl, Cardenio in Julián Molina Mir’s Don Quijote, and zarzuela roles such as Don Luis in Barbieri’s El Barberillo de Lavapiés, Ricardo (La del Manojo de Rosas), Jesús (Gigantes y Cabezudos), and Enrique (El Último Romántico).
Moisés has been a soloist in major roles and concerts in cities such as Cologne, Landshut, Regensburg, Vöringen, Passau (Dreiländerhalle), Füssen (Festspielhaus), Bologna, Lisbon, Porto, Madrid, Bilbao, Vitoria, Alicante, Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra, Orense, Zamora, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Murcia, León, Toledo, Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha (theater network), Madrid (theater network), and in his homeland, Asturias (Gijón, Oviedo, Ribadesella, Cangas del Narcea, Siero, among others).
He has performed concerts at the Global Center Auditorium and the Academic Cappella of Saint Petersburg (Russia), Kolarac Concert Hall (Belgrade, Serbia), Laeiszhalle-Musikhalle in Hamburg (Germany), Casa de España in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Niokastro Castle in Pylos Navarino (Greece), and in Mexico, in the main theaters of Celaya, Guanajuato. In Jerusalem (Israel), in 2015, he performed at the Gerard Behar Theater, Leo Model Hall, and the Mishkenot Sha’ananim Musical Center.
As an actor, José Moisés Molín was directed by filmmaker Liberto Rabal in his films Huellas and La Esquina. Recently, he participated in the award-winning film El Violin de Piedra (Emilio Ruiz Barrachina, 2015).
